Read the book? Now what…

Reading Connect First is often a turning point.

For many parents, it brings relief, clarity, and a sense of “this finally makes sense.”

But it can also raise new questions:

• How does this apply to my child?

• Which parts matter most for us right now?

• Am I doing this “right”?

• What do I focus on first when everything feels important?

This is where CONNECT Clarity Sessions come in.

CONNECT Clarity Sessions

A calm, focused 1:1 space with the author

CONNECT Clarity Sessions are one-to-one sessions with Susannah Burden, Speech & Language Therapist, Auditory Verbal Therapist, and author of Connect First.

These sessions are not traditional therapy appointments.

They are a space for insight, reflection, and direction — helping you make sense of what you’ve read and apply it meaningfully to your child, your family, and your real life.

Parents often describe them as the moment things “click”.

What happens in a CONNECT Clarity Session?

Each session is shaped entirely around you.

Together, we:

• Gently explore your child’s communication, regulation, and behaviour through a CONNECT lens

• Unpick what you’re noticing — without judgement or labels

• Identify what actually matters most right now (and what can wait)

• Translate ideas from the book into clear, realistic next steps

• Build confidence in your instincts as a parent or caregiver

There is no checklist.

No pressure to “fix”.

No one-size-fits-all advice.

Just thoughtful, informed conversation — grounded in experience, evidence, and deep respect for your child.

Who are these sessions for?

CONNECT Clarity Sessions are particularly helpful if:

• You’ve read Connect First and want personalised insight

• You feel stuck between professionals, advice, or opinions

• Your child’s needs feel complex or hard to explain

• You want reassurance that you’re on the right path

• You’re supporting a neurodivergent child and want guidance that feels humane and realistic

• You want clarity before deciding on further support or therapy

You don’t need a diagnosis.

You don’t need a referral.

You just need questions — or a sense that you’d like someone to think things through with you.

Why 1:1?

Because your child is not a framework.

The book offers principles.

The session offers precision.

This is an opportunity to:

• Slow everything down

• Be properly heard

• Leave with a clearer picture of what’s going on and what to do next

Many parents say it’s the first time they’ve felt truly understood — not just their child, but them.

Feedback from Parents

“We noticed a difference after the very first session.”
“We went in expecting speech and language therapy, but what we got was so much more. It made a real difference — not just for our child, but for all of us.”
“We didn’t need weekly sessions. We needed clarity, direction and the right tools — and that’s exactly what we got.”
“Such a worthwhile investment in our family.”

Final Word

You don’t need to do more.

You need to see more clearly.

If Connect First resonated with you, a CONNECT Clarity Session is a chance to take that understanding one step further — with calm, thoughtful support from the person who wrote the book.
